Adolescence can be a challenging stage in life. With the many biological changes that happen, teens may have multiple social and emotional encounters to manage during this time. Individual therapy helps explore any difficulties in a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental way.
Issues may be around connecting socially and forming relationships, seeking an academic direction, or understanding one’s identity, anxiety, depression, trauma/ loss, self-harm, destructive behaviours, difficulties with relationships, and/ or managing emotions.
Play is the way in which children learn, explore their worlds, and communicate and express their feelings. I offer play therapy which allows your child the chance to work through their emotions in a safe and contained environment.
Children express their thoughts and feelings through play, when they don’t have the words for them yet, and this is reflected and processed in a way that they can understand. Play therapy involves the support of the parents and regular feedback sessions, which is a vital part of the process. I also offer services for children under 5 years old, where the parent/s will join the play therapy sessions.
